Veecraft Marine, a subsidiary of South Africa's Paramount Maritime Holdings, has won a Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) tender to design and manufacture two twin-screw, diesel-powered tugs for use at the Port of Cape Town.
The vessels will be used for towing, escort, and lighthouse maintenance at the port.
Each tug will have an LOA of 19.5 metres, a beam of 7.25 metres, and a bollard pull of 15 tonnes.
