Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey has acquired its third shipyard, the company confirmed earlier this month.
The shipyard that Sanmar has purchased originally specialised in the repair and construction of small work boats and fishing boats and is located next to Sanmar's existing Tuzla shipyard. The facility will be completely rebuilt to meet to Sanmar's standards, particularly in the area of environmental safety.
The new yard will incorporate new offices, warehouses, and pre-assembly halls and will be optimised for construction of Sanmar's new electric tug series designed by Robert Allan Ltd.
