Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency medical services provider, has taken delivery of a new ambulance boat for use in water rescues.

The boat has space for up to six passengers in addition to a crew of three, a stretcher, a defibrillator, ventilation equipment, and a hull capable of resisting damage from rocks and vegetation. One outboard engine delivers a speed of 35 knots.

Within weeks of its inauguration into service earlier this month, the vessel had already participated in a number of water rescues in the Sea of Galilee.
