Colombo Dockyard has entered into a contract with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority for the construction of two pilot launches.
The 19-metre vessels will be designed by MacDuff of Scotland.
Each launch will be able to accommodate four crewmembers and four passengers/pilots and will have a service speed of 22 knots.
The vessels will be built to operate in all weather conditions prevailing in Sri Lanka.
