From Baird Maritime
Recent years have seen much of the developed world, not least the maritime world, awaken to the imperative of significantly reducing our environmental "footprints".
Now that many western and some Asian governments are threatening to tax emissions, businesses everywhere, including ship owners, are looking very seriously towards effecting significant reductions in the emissions from their vessels.
This well produced book, created by the Carbon War Room and sponsored by a number of leading maritime industry suppliers is a clear and simple manual describing much of what is available to improve the environmental efficiency of ships and boats.
Rather than a manual, the book is really a detailed directory of the goods and services that are currently available to achieve that end. Readers would be warned, though, that many of the suggestions described are still very much in their theoretical or experimental stages.
While not always realistic or practical, the Guide is both thought provoking and interesting.
