May keel-laying ceremonies for Russian hydrographic vessels

Russia's Navy Hydrographic Service is planning to conduct keel-laying ceremonies for its latest vessels in May.

The small Project 19910 hydrographic vessel will be built at the Vympel shipyard in Rybinsk, and the Project 19920 hydrographic vessel will be built at the Okskaya Sudoverf enterprise in Navashino in the Nizhny Novgorod region. 

Project 19910 vessels are designed for servicing navigation means, delivering cargoes to unequipped coasts and performing research using a multi-beam echo sounder.

The vessels will have strengthened ice protection and be able to work in deep sea conditions and shallow water.
