French naval architects Coprexma and shipbuilder the Chantier Bretagne Sud Group have been selected to supply a new training vessel to the Lycee Professionnel Maritime et Aquacole d'Etel, a maritime school in Etel in Brittany.

The all-aluminium vessel, which will be named Lymaret II, will have a length of 11.98 metres, a beam of five metres, and hybrid electric propulsion that will also draw some of its power from onboard solar panels. The vessel will be designed to be capable of sailing for up to three hours when cruising at five knots in fully electric mode.

Onboard facilities will include crew berths, showers, and a mess area.

The vessel's launch is scheduled for the spring of 2023.
