UK port operator Forth Ports has placed an order for two new pilot boats to join its fleet working on the Rivers Forth and Tay.

The vessels will be built by Holyhead Marine Services in Wales and are scheduled for delivery in 2025. These will become the sixth and seventh boats to join Forth Ports' current pilotage fleet.

Each pilot boat will have a length of 16.6 metres and engines that can be modified to run on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO).
