Associated British Ports (ABP) has invested around £9 million (US$11.8 million) for the construction and delivery of nine pilot boats.

Goodchild Marine Services of Norfolk will build and deliver the boats within the next five years.

Five of the vessels will serve ports in the Humber region, three will be slated for Southampton, and the last boat will be handed over to Barry in South Wales.
