The landing craft ferry Nordland II has been accepted by San Juan Ferry and Barge for operations in the Salish islands, Washington State.

The 26.2-metre by 7.6-metre vessel was delivered by Latitude Marine Services primarily for use in Friday Harbour on San Juan Island.

Nordland II features a 22.8-metre by 7.0-metre cargo deck open at the stern for cargo overhang, and a high pilothouse offset to starboard for all-round visibility.

The Nordland II will deliver cargo and commodities that cannot be shipped on Washington State Ferries, such as bulk gasoline.

Propulsion comes from twin John Deere 6090 AFM 85 engines rated at 212kW each at 2,100rpm.
