Costa Cruises held an official naming ceremony for Costa Smeralda, its newest cruise ship, on Saturday, February 22.

The 337- by 42-metre newbuild boasts capacity for up to 6,554 guests and amenities including 16 restaurants, theme bars, and the first ever museum on a cruise ship.

Costa Smeralda was delivered in December 2019. It is the first of two Excellence-class LNG-powered cruise ships built by Finland's Meyer Turku for Costa Cruises.
