A partnership formed by battery manufacturer Shift Clean Energy and Japanese companies NYK Trading and Keihin Dock will develop a full electric demonstrator workboat fitted with a 123kWh energy storage system (ESS).
The nine-metre-long vessel will be operated by Keihin Dock. Duties will include personnel transport, tug assistance, and resupply.
NYK Trading parent company Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) provided technical support for the project.
