A partnership of eight Norwegian companies including shipyard Grovfjord Mekaniske Verksted (GMV) will collaborate on the construction of a new hydrogen fuel cell-powered, high-speed workboat for the Port of Narvik.
The new vessel will replace the port's existing diesel-powered workboat upon delivery in 2023. Duties will include emergency response and crew training.
The workboat's hydrogen fuel cells will be supplied by local company TECO 2030.
