China's Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard launched a new heavy transport vessel into the water on Monday, June 15.
The 10,000DWT Bravewind is the second in a series that Jiangsu Zhenjiang is building for Germany's United Wind Logistics (UWL). Boldwind, the first vessel in the series, was delivered earlier in May.
Once completed, Bravewind will have an LOA of 148.5 metres, a beam of 28 metres, a cargo deck area of 3,600 cubic metres, and a fully electric propulsion system that could deliver a speed of 12 knots.
As with sister vessel Boldwind, Bravewind will serve a long-term charter to transport wind turbines and related components for MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.
