The Indian Navy took delivery of its newest submarine on Monday, February 15.
Built by state-owned Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, the future INS Karanj is the third submarine in the Kalvari-class, which are variants of the Scorpene-class diesel-electric vessels developed by France's Naval Group.
The future Karanj measures 67 by six metres and will be equipped with up to 18 torpedoes as well as Exocet anti-ship missiles.
