The photo released by the Brazilian Navy shows four divers with the semi-submerged tail fin (vertical stabiliser), moving towards the rest of the team in an inflatable rubber dinghy.

The find is significant as there are hopes it could help locate the plane's black boxes under water. This would be a vital step to uncovering the mystery of the crash.

Meanwhile, the dive team has so far found 24 bodies, and Brazilian officials yesterday received the first 16 bodies. Brazilian Navy spokesman Captain Guicemar told AFP that Brazilian police forensic teams would identify the bodies using dental records and DNA supplied by relatives.
