Underwater data acquisition services provider XOcean has introduced a new unmanned surface vehicle (USV) to its fleet.
Designed and built by XOcean's in-house engineers, the USV has a length of 4.5 metres, a beam of 2.2 metres, and capacity for up to 100 kilograms of various sensor and equipment combinations. A lithium-ion battery pack will enable the craft to sail up to 1,512 nautical miles at a cruising speed of four knots.
The USV belongs to a series of 12 vessels, the first example of which was completed in 2021.
