Bouchard Transportation Company has ordered a new articulated tug-barge (ATB) for its river towage operations in the USA.

VT Halter Marine will construct the 34.1-metre Evening Breeze at its Pascagoula, Mississippi shipyard.

Equipped with an Intercon coupler system, Evening Breeze will have a power rating of 2,982kW and meet US EPA-Tier 4 emissions requirements.

She will be the sister vessel to ATB tugs Denise A. Bouchard and Evening Star.

The B. No.252 barge is being constructed by Bollinger Shipyards. Measuring 96.9 metres by 21.3 metres by 8.5 metres, B No.252 will have a 55,000-barrel capacity, and be used to transport liquid petroleum products throughout the Jones Act Market.

The expected delivery for both vessels is first quarter of 2019.
