Veecraft Marine, a subsidiary of South Africa's Paramount Maritime Holdings, has begun construction on two harbour tugs in a series ordered by local operator Transnet National Ports Authority.

The 19.3- by 7.25-metre vessels will each be powered by twin Cummins K38 745kW IMO Tier II-compliant diesel engines. Each will also have accommodations for a crew of six, a 28-cubic-metre fuel tank, a 10-cubic-metre water tank, and a 0.83-cubic-metre lube oil tank.

The tugs will be used for towage and pilotage duties at the Port of Cape Town following their scheduled delivery in June 2021.
