Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey has laid the keels of two Robert Allan Ltd (RAL) designed icebreaking tugs ordered by Finland's Alfons Håkans Group.
The vessels will each have a length of 32 metres and two Caterpillar 3516C main engines that will deliver a bollard pull in excess of 65 tonnes.
The tugs will operate year-round in the Baltic Sea and particularly in the Northern Baltic Sea which is covered with heavy ice during winter.
Delivery is scheduled for late 2020.
