Turkish shipbuilder Sanmar has delivered its second Voith Schneider propeller (VSP) tug to the Israeli port of Ashdod.

Constructed for Trieste-based operator Tripmare, the Robert Allan Ltd-designed Ashdod will join sister vessel Arie A for port operations.

The 500GT tug measures 30.2 metres by 13.0 metres and has a pair of Caterpillar diesel engines that each develop 2525kW at 1800rpm.

They will deliver a bollard pull of up to 70 tonnes and drive the hull at an operational speed of 12.5 knots.

Accommodation includes two single cabins for officers, two single cabins for petty officers and one double cabin for crew, each with en-suite facilities.
