Armon Shipyard in Spain has floated out a new tug that will be operated at Belgium's Port of Antwerp.
The vessel will then undergo further outfitting, to be followed by sea trials.
Power will be provided by two dual-fuel, medium-speed engines developed by BeHydro, a joint venture between CMB.TECH and Anglo Belgian Corporation. The engines will be capable of operating on hydrogen, making the tug one of the first vessels of its kind to be powered by hydrogen.
The tug is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2022. It will commence operational sailings in Antwerp in the first quarter of 2023.
