A warship collided with an oil tanker and a tug in Norwegian waters at around 04:26 local time on Thursday, November 8.

The Royal Norwegian Navy Fridtjof Nansen-class frigate HNoMS Helge Ingstad had just completed its participation in the ongoing NATO-led Trident Juncture military exercise when it collided with the Malta-flagged tanker Sola TS and the tug Tenax in Hjeltefjorden.

Helge Ingstad started taking on water after colliding with the two other vessels but was later declared out of danger of sinking. Its entire crew of 137 have been evacuated.

Eight people have reportedly suffered minor injuries and have been given medical treatment.
