Jamaica’s Ocean Group welcomes ASD tug to Kingston Port fleet

Jamaican operator the Ocean Group has taken delivery of a new ASD tug from Turkish builder Med Marine.

The Robert Allan Ltd-designed Ocean Blue Mahoe will be used for ship handling, coastal towing, and general-purpose towing duties.

The newbuild has an LOA of 25.2 metres, a beam of 12 metres, and a Caterpillar 3516C main engine that delivers a bollard pull of 75 tonnes and a speed of 12 knots. MLC-compliant accommodations are available for seven personnel.

The tug will be operated out of the Port of Kingston.
