Guatemala-based towage company Arrendadora Continental recently took delivery of a new harbour tug built by Med Marine of Turkey.

Monterrico was designed by Robert Allan Ltd and is a compact, multi-purpose tug with a length of 25 metres, a bollard pull of 72 tonnes, a speed of 12 knots, and firefighting capability. Accommodations are available for eight crewmembers.

The tug will support Arrendadora Continental in its harbour operations using a forward winch for ship handling as well as an aft towing hook. Advanced systems will ensure safety under a broad range of operational circumstances.

The vessel will also be operated in the terminal escort role

Monterrico is the third tug to be built by Med Marine for the same owner.
