The Port Maritime Authority of El Salvador (Autoridad Maritima Portuaria; AMP) has given official approval for the local branch of Saam Towage to operate its two newest tugs at the LNG terminal run by Energia del Pacifico (EDP).

Sister vessels Saam Acaxual and Saam Centzunat were delivered to El Salvador in April of this year following completion at Uzmar Shipyard in Turkey. Each has a length of 32 metres, a bollard pull in excess of 80 tonnes, and BV-certified FiFi1 equipment.

The tugs were designed by Robert Allan Ltd specifically to meet the needs of EDP's Acajutla LNG terminal.
