Bureau Veritas and Singaporean companies Penguin International, Durapower Technology, and BOS Offshore and Marine have entered into a memorandum of understanding with the objective of developing a new plug-in hybrid electric fast harbour launch for use at the Port of Singapore.

The vessel will be owned and operated by Penguin. Durapower will supply the energy storage systems while BOS will provide technical assistance including training of crews.

Danish electronics specialist Danfoss has been selected for the testing and integration of power drive trains for the vessel.
