Pontemar, one of three companies that make up Boluda Towage Latam, the Boluda Towage towing division for Argentina and Uruguay, has placed an order for two tugs from Spanish shipyard SYM Naval.
Delivery of the vessels is scheduled for mid-2020.
The tugs will be operated out of the Port of Buenos Aires and will be used primarily to provide ship assist for containerships on the Paraná-Paraguay waterway. These may also be called on to assist fishing boats and medium-sized vessels.
