Okskaya Sudoverf launches shallow-draught tank barge

Russia's Okskaya Sudoverf Shipyard has launched the lead Project ROB20 tank barge.

The non-self-propelled, shallow-draught and double-hulled tank barge, Belmax 1, is the first in a series of ten 6,000DWT vessels.

Designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, the O-class, New Belskaya vessel is being built for Saint-Petersburg based company Paula Rise.

The 118.7-metre by 22.8-metre Belmax 1 will be leased by the State Transport Leasing Company.

The vessels will transport petroleum products with a flashpoint of 610C and above on the Belaya, Kama and Volga rivers.
