JMU delivers VLCC to Meiji Group subsidiary

Japan Marine United (JMU) delivered a newbuild very large crude carrier (VLCC) to Netherlands-based MK Centennial Maritime, a subsidiary of Meiji Group, on Thursday, June 13.

Named Esteem Astro, the NK-classed Malacca Max tanker has an LOA of 339.5 metres, a beam of 60 metres, a depth of 28.5 metres, a draught of 21.08 metres, and a crew of 40.

One MAN B&W 7G80ME-C9.5 diesel engine gives the tanker a speed of 15.5 knots.
