Deltamarin and GTT have received approval in principle (AIP) from ABS for a new design of LNG-fueled Aframax tanker.

Deltamarin said the design provides increased autonomy while also reducing carbon emissions.

The partners have claimed that, compared to a conventional oil-fueled tanker, the new LNG-fueled tanker design will reduce CO2 emissions by at least 20 per cent. It will also offer increased autonomy without reducing the cargo volume.
