Repair works on all three breakwaters at the Australian port of Mackay will begin on January 29.
North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) General Manager Engineering and Development, Dr Rochelle Macdonald, said Mackay business CJD Investments had been awarded the contract for the southern breakwater repairs.
MGN Civil will undertake works on the middle and northern breakwaters in February.
The repair works will require up to 90,000 tonnes of rock, which will be sourced locally from quarries at Mt Bassett and Blue Mountain.
NQBP aims to have the repairs completed by the end of 2018.
