Construction of Riga logistics centre to begin this year

Construction is expected to begin soon at the Freeport of Riga on its multifunctional cargo handling, warehousing and logistics centre.

The facility within the Kundzinsala territory of the Latvian capital is expected to distribute cargo and products from India and other countries to northern Europe and Russia.

Logistics company Bhandar will build a 6,000-square-metre warehouse to reload pharmaceutical products, food, chemicals and other cargo.

The development of the warehouse technical project is due to be completed in April, after which construction works are planned to start.

Investment is the first phase of the logistics complex could reach €5 million (US$6.2 million).
