World’s largest LPG carrier delivered to Chinese owner

South Korea's Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries has completed construction of what the company has claimed is the world's largest LPG carrier.

Measuring 229.98 by 36.6 metres and a with a total cargo capacity of 90,000 cubic metres, Bellavista Explorer was delivered to Chinese shipowner Bank of Communications Financial Leasing on Friday, July 9.

The ship is powered by a dual-fuel propulsion system that can operate on either LPG or diesel. It is also equipped with systems that can reduce emissions of SOx, NOx, and GHG by 90 per cent, 50 per cent, and 20 per cent, respectively.

Bellavista Explorer can sail for up to 31,700 kilometres in between refuelings.
