South Korean shipowner Pan Ocean has confirmed its plans to acquire a newbuild vessel to expand its LNG transport business, the company said in a recent regulatory filing.

The vessel will be built at an undisclosed shipyard at a cost of approximately ₩204 billion (US$187.9 million). Delivery is tentatively scheduled for April 2023.

The newbuilding contract is expected to be awarded to the designated shipyard in early January 2021.
