NYK places order for 86,700cbm LPG/ammonia carrier

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) has placed an order for a new LPG/ammonia carrier to be built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI).

The 230-metre-long vessel will have a total cargo capacity of 86,700 cubic metres. Separate cargo tanks will be available to enable the simultaneous transport of LPG and liquefied ammonia gas (NH3).

The LPG/NH3 carrier will be the third in a series to be built for NYK.
