Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) has entered into long-term time-charter contracts for four newly built LNG carriers with Novatek Gas and Power Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Russia's Novatek, through a joint venture with a company of the SCF Group.
The vessels will be constructed at Samsung Heavy Industries and are slated for delivery from 2023 to 2024.
Each LNG carrier will have a total cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic metres and a slow-speed engine that can operate on either diesel or boil-off gas from the LNG cargo tanks.
