Trans Pacific Shipping 8, a joint venture of Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and JERA, christened its newest LNG carrier Sohshu Maru at Kawasaki Heavy Industries' (KHI) Sakaide Works shipyard on Tuesday, July 2.

The vessel has a length of approximately 300 metres, a beam of 48.9 metres, a draught of 11.8 metres, a total cargo tank capacity of about 177,00 cubic metres, and a dual fuel diesel electric (DFDE) engine that could deliver a speed of 19.5 knots.
