Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and China COSCO Shipping recently christened a new LNG carrier.

The 295- by 45-metre vessel, which will be jointly owned by the two companies, has been named LNG Phecda after a star in the constellation Ursa Major. It is the third in a planned series of four that will serve the Yamal LNG Project in Russia.

As with sister vessels LNG Dubhe (pictured) and LNG Merak, LNG Phecda was built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
