Mitsubishi Shipbuilding holds naming ceremony for Mitsui’s newest LNG carrier

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) subsidiary Mitsubishi Shipbuilding held a naming ceremony for a new LNG carrier on Thursday, February 21.

Named Marvel Crane, the ship is the first of two LNG carriers of the same design being constructed for Mitsui and Co.

Delivery is scheduled for March 2019.

Marvel Crane has a length of 293 metres, a width of 48.94 metres, a draught of 11.4 metres, and a total tank holding capacity of 177,000 cubic metres.
