Mitsubishi Shipbuilding christens seventh LPG carrier for Astomos Energy

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding, a company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, christened on Friday, December 14, a 48,300DWT liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier currently under construction for Tokyo-based Astomos Energy Corporation.

The new ship, named Laurel Prime, will be the seventh vessel of its type being built for Astomos Energy.

Completion and delivery are scheduled for the end of December 2018. The vessel will then be operated by NYK Line.

Laurel Prime has a length of 230 metres, a width of 36.6 metres, a depth of 21.65 metres, a draught of 11.1 metres, and a total tank holding capacity of 83,000 cubic metres.
