Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore Engineering (CIMC SOE) has launched a new liquefied ethylene gas (LEG) carrier ordered by German shipping company the Hartmann Group.

GasChem Phoenix belongs to a series of three LEG carriers designed and built by CIMC SOE and classed by DNV.

Upon completion, the vessel will have an LOA of 116 metres, a beam of 18 metres, a depth of 12.3 metres, a total cargo capacity of 7,200 cubic metres, and a dual-fuel propulsion system that can also run on LNG.

GasChem Phoenix will be delivered by the end of this year. It will be operated by Hartmann company GasChem Services alongside sister ships GasChem Fuji and GasChem Alster, which will be handed over this summer.
