GasLog orders another LNG carrier

GasLog has placed an order with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for a new LNG carrier.

The 180,000-cubic-metre Flex Plus vessel with XDF propulsion is scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2020

Currently unchartered, the vessel Hull No. 2274, is the second LNG carrier order in 2018.

The first will be chartered for an initial period of seven years by Pioneer Shipping.

GasLog Chief Executive Officer Paul Wogan said the company has also agreed options with Samsung for additional newbuild vessels.
