Construction starts on LNG carrier pair for K Line

Published on

China's Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding has begun construction on two LNG carriers in a series for Japanese shipowner Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line).

Each vessel will have an LOA of 239 metres, a beam of 36.6 metres, and a total LNG cargo capacity of 79,960 cubic metres.

The vessels' draught will be less than nine metres to enable them to operate in shallow-water channels such as the Pearl River, the Huangpu River, and the lower Yangtze River.
