Saudi Arabia's national shipping carrier Bahri has taken delivery of the final vessel in a series of 10 very large crude carriers (VLCCs).
The 333-metre by 60-metre newbuilding Amad was ordered from South Korea-based Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in 2015.
With the capacity to transport 2.2 million barrels of crude oil, the 300,000DWT carrier Amad has a top speed of 14.4 knots.
The company's 46th VLCC will be operated on a time-charter/spot basis.
The delivery marks the completion of Bahri's 2015 agreement to build five firm and five optional VLCCs at the yard.
Amad joins the four vessels – Kassab, Lawhah, Qamran, and Khurais – Bahri received from HSHI earlier this year.
Amjad, Maharah, Aslaf, Rimthan and Shaden were delivered in 2017.
