Avenir LNG has sold one of its LNG bunkering vessels to Shanghai SIPG Energy Service (SSES) of China.

Avenir said the sale of the 20,000-cubic-metre Avenir Allegiance to SSES is part of an initiative to establish Shanghai as Avenir's first LNG bunkering hub serving the Chinese market.

Dr Luo Wenbin, General Manager of Engineering and Equipment at SSES' parent company the Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), said Avenir Allegiance will provide LNG bunkering services for CMA CGM and other international liner customers in Shanghai Port under a joint cooperation agreement between Avenir, SSES, and the Shenergy Group.
