World’s largest wood chip carrier delivered to Singapore owner

China Shipbuilding Group, through subsidiary China Shipbuilding Chengxi Ship Repair, has delivered a new wood chip carrier to Singapore shipowner Nova Group.

The 70,000DWT Indonesia Express, the first ship in a series of four ordered by Nova, is the world's largest purpose-built wood chip carrier by deadweight.

The ABS-classed newbuild has an LOA of 215.4 metres, a beam of 37 metres, and a total cargo capacity of 142,000 cubic metres.
