A christening ceremony at Oshima Shipbuilding in Japan was recently held by U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation of Taiwan for its newest Post Panamax bulk carrier, the 99,990DWT Cemtex Dominance.
The 235- by 40-metre newbuild is the second in a series designed and built by Oshima for U-Ming. A notable feature is the narrow streamline design of the bridge to reduce wind resistance improve the vessel's overall fuel efficiency.
The acquisition of Cemtex Dominance is part of U-Ming's fleet upgrade program, which also includes the acquisition of 10 other bulk carriers and one cement carrier. These new vessels are scheduled for delivery during the 2022-2024 timeframe.
