Two crewmembers have gone missing after their cargo vessel sank off the coast of Fujian Province in Eastern China on Monday, January 21.

The 98- by 15-metre Zhongxing 689 reportedly experienced flooding before it sank at around 04:00 local time.

All 13 crewmembers abandoned ship and jumped into the water. Five crewmembers were later picked up out of the water by a helicopter despatched by the country's Ministry of Transport while another six were rescued by commercial vessels that arrived on scene.
