French Ro-Ro shipping company Neoline has entered into an agreement with local construction and logistics specialist Manitou Group for the transport of the latter's products and equipment across the Atlantic to serve clients in the North American market.

The Ro-Ro vessels to be used will consist of two 136-metre ships equipped with wind-assisted propulsion.

The new cargo service will operate between Saint-Nazaire and the Port of Baltimore in Maryland. Both Neoline and Manitou claim the service will achieve CO2 emissions reductions of as much as 90 per cent compared to the use of conventionally-powered vessels.
